Toddler secretly carries baby sister off to keep the playtime going

A Pennsylvania mother got an unexpected surprise when she discovered her toddler had quietly carried her baby sister into another room - a moment later caught on camera and shared widely online.

Nicole Lasica said she was in the kitchen cleaning when the family's Nest camera recorded her then 2-year-old daughter, Harper, lifting her 9-month-old sister, June, out of the living room so the two could continue playing together elsewhere.

Lasica said she had no idea the children had moved until she went looking for them.

The Pittsburgh-area mom described the moment as a covert mission, captured entirely on video while she was out of sight. The footage shows Harper carefully transporting June under her arms before gently setting her down and patting her on the head.

"It was hysterical watching her carry her baby sister, who's pretty much the same size as her, under the arms, and then dropping her. And then when she sets her down and does the little head pet, it was the cutest," Lasica said.

Lasica said it took time for Harper to warm up to being a new sibling, something she notes is common among older brothers and sisters. But in that moment, she said, the girls were inseparable.

Lasica posted the video online, hoping to make a few people laugh, not expecting the response it would receive. The clip has since drawn millions of views and more than two million likes.

"I am glad that everyone's able to relate to it in some way, whether it's their kids, or they remember being like that with their siblings. I think it's really sweet," she said.
